On Thursday in “The Ingraham Angle” of FNC, Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) warned that some US companies have allowed Chinese manufacturers to integrate technology into the communications infrastructure of the United States, which could mean that China can “violate” communications networks.
The Missouri Republican said the problem has persisted since the Biden administration, and President Donald Trump is now responding.
Partial transcription as follows:
Ingraham: Well, and companies like Verizon and others are now China’s integrated infrastructure, so that, according to the Wall Street Journal, they can listen to any call in the United States, essence, who want to listen. That is not certified.
Hawley: Yes, and this has bone –
Ingraham: So, and I guess we do nothing.
Hawley: – And you are exactly reason. That is exactly what the Biden administration has done. Laura, I can’t emphasize enough, we have known about this for spending a year. Congress members were informed about this a year ago that China had violated our communications networks, was sitting there in Verizon and or there networks, and I remember asking directly, administration officials Biden, what are you going to do? And his answer was –
Ingraham: Nothing.
Hawley: – There is not much we can do. That is outrageous. There are many things you can do, and Donald Trump is finally doing it,
Ingraham: Well –
Hawley: – It’s time to defend the United States.
