The Stanley Cup playoff project will be open for the second consecutive year.
Fanduel Sportsbooks has the stars as the nominal favorite to lift the trophy at +600, but nine teams appear between +600 and 10/1.
That is more than half of the field, and the first team outside that range is Toronto with only 13/1, so you can also group Arce leaves in that group.
The betting market tells us that 10 teams are true contestants to win the Stanley Cup, and six would be surprises of varying degrees.
With so many grouped teams, the road to the Cup becomes almost as important as the talent level of a team. That is what we will use to separate a package equipment.
Dallas is the favorite of the Stanley Cup, but has a brutal projected path. The stars will play the avalanche in Ronda 1, and whoever leaves that battle will probably face Winnipeg’s jets in Round 2.
And that is only to reach the finals of the West Conference.
The same logic is applied to Colorado, which is +950 to win the Stanley Cup.
The AVS are a fashion choice to get out of the west after an occupied trade deadline, a strong second half and the return of Gabriel Landenskog, but Dallas and Winnipeg stand on their way to the Final Four.
The Winnipeg route towards the commercial end of the playoffs is a bit easier, but the jets must deal with Dallas or Colorado in Round 2.
The second favorite behind Dallas is Florida in +650. It is difficult to discuss with the logic of hanging the Panthers at this price, they have the leg to the last two Stanley Cup finals and won in 2024, but Florida has seemed less than inspired by the section, and will have Tampa Bay and Toronto on their way.
Betting on the NHL?
Lightning (+900) are receiving a lot of love from hockey media as the team to win in the east this season, but the bolts are looking at Toronto or Florida in Ronda 1, and the other is likely to cool in Round 2.
Hurricanes (+850) are a formidable group, but their goal can be the least reliable for any team in this cluster, and have some serious playoff demons with which to deal with this spring.
The dogs are a great favorite to overcome the Devils in Ronda 1, but it would be the capitals of the first place that await them in Round 2. The Caps have beast throughout the season, but they would probably be a helpless of Carolina in Round 2.
That takes us to the team, I think it should be the favorite in the playoffs.
The Golden Knights (+850) are almost guaranteed to win the Pacific division, which will give them the opportunity to play one of the wild card teams in Ronda 1 and the winner of Edmonton-L Angeles in Round 2.
Maybe the oilers increase things in the playoffs, but they are mired in a stretch of 14-13-1 since the beginning of February and do not look at the past spring.
The Kings have 21/1 to win the Cup, which means that the Knights would be a considerable favorite to overcome Los Angeles in Round 2.
I may not think that Vegas is the best team in the league, but that is not the question we are asking.
Given its path, experience and talent, there should be enough to make the gentlemen the leader of this package.
