Mikaela Laurén, a distinguished Swedish athlete, has made a mark both in the realms of professional boxing and national-level swimming. In her boxing career, she notably held the WBC female light middleweight title from 2014 to 2016. As of September 2020, her achievements have secured her a prominent place in the rankings, with The Ring positioning her as the world’s fourth-best active light-middleweight. Laurén’s versatile career showcases her dedication and skill across multiple disciplines, leaving an enduring impact on the sports landscape.

Mikaela Lauren, a Swedish professional boxer, has left an indelible mark on the world of boxing, competing in various weight classes throughout his illustrious career. Born on January 20, 1976, in Stockholm, Sweden, Lauren has showcased his exceptional skills in Welterweight, Light-middleweight, and Middleweight categories. Standing at a height of 1.78 meters (5 feet 10 inches), Lauren embodies the tenacity and prowess characteristic of a seasoned fighter. With an orthodox stance, he has participated in a total of 38 fights, securing victory in 32 of them, with 13 wins achieved by knockout. However, like any athlete, Lauren has faced defeats, totaling six losses in his remarkable journey. When Lauren decided to retire in 2019 she had possessed 7 various world titles in different organisations. As a proud representative of Swedish boxing, her contributions to the sport have solidified her legacy, and at the age of 47, she stands as a testament to the enduring spirit of a skilled and dedicated athlete.

Mikaela Laurén’s journey is one marked by diverse experiences and remarkable resilience. Growing up in Enskede in southern Stockholm, she began her athletic pursuits early, diving into swimming at the age of three. Under the guidance of the Stockholm police sports association, Laurén honed her skills in the pool. At eighteen, she ventured to the United States, where she found herself recruited by the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. In 1995 she finished fourth at 200 yards butterfly at the NCAA´s.

In 2001 Lauren graduated with a BA degree in Journalism and Mass Communication and returned to Sweden. Back home she intensified her training for the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens. Unfortunately she never succeeded to qualify despite beating a new swedish record. She managed to win the Swedisg nationals 16 times in 200 meters buterfly and 400 Individual medley.In May 2006, Laurén pursued education as a personal trainer and decided to embark on a new chapter by returning to the United States. This time to Los Angeles with the goal of becoming a professional boxer.

In a testament to her versatility, Laurén showcased her talents beyond sports by participating in the celebrity dance show “Dancing with the Stars 2017,” broadcast on TV4. Lauren has been participated in various famous TV shows in Sweden and has also had small parts in different movies and TV series.

At the age of 45 Lauren and her husband Peder became parents to their awaited daughter Nikita through IVF.

Today Lauren is working as a very successful onlinecoach and has helped hundreds of women to reach their goals. In September 2023 she published her selfbiography “Nere för räkning” (Down but not out). This year you can also see her in the famous swedish TV series Kompani Svan, broadcasted in 14 different episodes at Channel 5.
