The rescue of passengers of a boat overturned off the coast of Florida became tragic on Sunday after a person was found dead and five are still missing.

The initial of the United States Coast Guard responded to a call from a good Samaritan that reports the ship overturned approximately 29 miles from St. Lucie’s entrance.

USCG teams were able to rescue four of nine people after the boat overturned on Friday, according to someone on board.

One person was found dead and another five remain missing, according to the Fire Rescue of the USCG and Martin County (MCFR).

The four passengers who were rescued were transported to the hospital by MCFR after the helicopter took them to Stuart airport.

A person suffered “serious injuries”, according to the fire rescue service, while the other three experienced injuries described as not lives.

The search for the five missing passengers remains active.
