More than a dish, people are dead after the roof of a nightclub in the Dominican Republic collapsed the morning of Tuesday when a well -known meringue singer was halfway, the authorities said.
At least 13 were killed and approximately another 90 were transferred to the hospital when the roof of the famous Jet Set nightclub suddenly collapsed when Rubby Pérez was on stage according to the police.
Pérez was one of those who got alive from the rubble, local media reported.
Rescue teams were still examining the debris to find additional survivors, police said.
“Our city wakes up to a terrible tragedy that occurred in the Jet Set nightclub. My deposit sympathy is with the families that still wait for the news of their loved ones,” the mayor of Santo Domingo, Carolina Mejía.
