Defense Secretary Pete Hegseeth issued more strict orders on Friday for journalists accessing the Pentagon building, since the Trump administration imposes additional pressures to the press.
The new rules prohibit the accredited reporters of the majority of the headquarters of the Department of Defense in Arlington, Virginia, without official approval and escort, Hegseeth said in a memorandum.
Hegseeth described the protection of classified national intelligence information and confidential information not classified on operational security as “an unwavering imperative for the department.”
