Defense Secretary Pete Hegseeth issued more strict orders on Friday for journalists accessing the Pentagon building, since the Trump administration imposes additional pressures to the press.
The new rules prohibit the accredited reporters of the majority of the headquarters of the Department of Defense in Arlington, Virginia, without official approval and escort, Hegseeth said in a memorandum.
Hegseeth described the protection of classified national intelligence information and confidential information not classified on operational security as “an unwavering imperative for the department.”
“While the department remains committed to transparency, the department is equally united to protect [Classified National Security Information] And confidential information: whose unauthorized dissemination could endanger the lives of US service members, “said the secretary.

Hegseeth’s order will also require that members of Pentagon Press Corps sign a form that recognizes their responsibility to protect national intelligence and confidential information. Journalists will also receive new badges that clearly identify them as members of the press.
“We also anticipate an upcoming announcement of additional security measures and a better scrutiny about the issuance of [credentials]”Said the memorandum.” The failure by any member of the resident or the visiting press to comply with the thesis control measures will result in additional restrictions and a possible revocation of press credentials. “
The Pentagon Press Association, a representation of the membership organization, the press body that covers the United States Army, said the new rules seem to demonstrate a “direct attack on the freedom of the press.”

“The decision is supposedly based on concerns about operational security,” the group said in a statement. “But the Pentagon Press CORPS has had access to unashed spaces and not classified in the Pentagon for decades, under republican and democratic administrations, even after the attacks of September 11, 2001, without concern for the OP-SEC of the leadership of the DOD.”
Last month, the Pentagon shot three officials after announcing a escape investigation in March in the Department of Defense.
The Pentagon has also requested the inherited media, including The New York Times, The Washington Post, Politico, NPR, CNN and NBC News, to empty their office spaces in the building as part of a new rotation system to bring Mostpets, Mostpets, Whichtets, Most Pets, Whichtets, what? Including the New York Post, Breitbart, The Daily Caller and One America News Network.

The department said the rotation system aimed to allow other media for the opportunity to cover the pentagon as resident members of the press body.
In addition, the administration has begun to use lies detector tests to investigate unauthorized leaks in federal agencies. Some officials of the National Security Department were told that they could be fires for rejecting the polygraphs.
The White House said Trump will not seep the media and that federal employees that filter material must be responsible.
