Reading, now 45 years old, is accused of killing her 46 -year -old boyfriend, a Boston police officer, on January 29, 2022. The Police alleged that he hit him with the rear of his SUV Lexus and left, incapacitating him and leaving him during a grave.
Read declared innocent and has denied O’Keefe at all through his lawyers.
“They asked you for your opinion whether or not there was a reason that you found to Brian Higgins wanted to kill John O’Kefe,” said defense lawyer Alan Jackson. Yuri Bukhenik of the Massachusetts State Police. “I am asking you a different question. In your opinion, in your opinion, after having read those texts, finding a reason for Brian Higgins, you may want to face John O’Kefe because or jealousy?”

“If you are asking for my opinion, my opinion is that I would not need to confront Mr. O’Keefe,” Bukhenik said. “Mr. O’Keefe was not the one who chased Mr. Higgins. It was his client who chased Mr. Higgins.”
On Friday, Jackson made Bukhenik read a long chain of texts between Read and Higgins exchanged in the week before O’Kefe death, where they flirted, they invited each other, they discussed a kiss outside the house outside the house.

Higgins, Read and O’Kefe were present at the waterfall bar and the grill on January 28, 2022, and Jackson asked Bukhenik if the surveillance video showed Higgins aggressive with O’Keefe.

That same night, Higgins sent two text messages without response to read.
“After the week to communicate with Miss Read in a romantic way, and then … see her walk in the John O’Kefe and send the texture, ‘Umm. Well’, after having an intoxicated bone, do you see that, detective, Ash in investigator, Asia at Rasone Scenario for Brian Higgins to be crazy for being John O’Keefe?”
“There is a possibility there, but I didn’t see it,” Bukhenik said.
“Did you explore that possibility?” Jackson said.

Bukhenik testified that he did not, but said he trusted in the “totality of the investigation”, which led to charges against reading.
Bukhenik returned to the podium for his third day of testimony and spent hours answering questions. His testimony concluded at the end of the day and Judge Beverly Cannone told him that he would not have to return on Tuesday.
Under a redirected examination of the special prosecutor Hank Brennan, Bukhenik testified that the green marks in the back of the O’Kefe jeans looked like grass spots that he had his leg suffered when O’Keefe fell to the ground after being an insect.
In the interrogation, defense lawyer Alan Jackson asked if the grass spots could come from someone dragged.

“My common sense dictates that it was not a drag brand because it would have linear characterizations, and it would be both buttocks that are in contact with the ground while crawling,” Bukhenik said.
Early in the day, Bukhenik read text messages of former state soldier Michael Proctor, who since then has been burned on his duration of out of service, the initial investigation.
The questioning of the Jackson Gate, Bukhenik, confirmed that Proctor called Read “Retarded,” he said he hated his other defense lawyer, David Yannetti, and wrote about how to search on his naked selfies on his phone.

Jackson also played a video that seems to show Brian Higgins at the headquarters of the Canton Police Department approximately one hour after prosecutors say O’Keefe died.
Higgins was seen in a surveillance video between a group of people in the waterfall and grid bar along with Read and O’Kefe on January 28. He also went to a later party in 34 Fairview Road, a house owned by another Boston police, Brian Albert.
O’Keefe was discovered dead outside the next morning.
Multiple witnesses have testified that they listened repeatedly to say: “I hit it,” said the morning and two former friends found O’Keefe dead under a mound of snow on Albert’s grass.

After sending the jury members to lunch on Monday, Cannone celebrated a quick Voir Air audience and finally said that he would not allow Jackson to interrogate Bukhenik about what he knew the relationship between Proctor and the relatives, cludding Waterfeall was one of his brothers 28.
Reading could face life imprisonment if you are convicted of the highest position, second degree murder. She is also accused of homicide and leave the scene of a fatal accident.
Police have not accused Higgins of a crime, and prosecutors say Read is the only suspect in O’Kefe’s death.
