The Boeing 747 offered to the United States by Qatar will be delivered to the Department of Defense, President Donald Trump said Tuesday, answering questions about the legality of acceptance of a gift from a foreign power.
The Royal Family of Qatar offered to donate a $ 400 million jumbo plane that could serve as Air Force One.
The White House has rejected criticism of Trump, saying that any gift from a foreign power is always accepted in full compliance with all laws.

“The Boeing 747 is being given to the Air Force/Department of Defense of the United States, not me!” Trump wrote on his real social platform in the midst of his visit to Saudi Arabia. “It is a gift from a nation, Qatar, which we have defended successful for many years. It will be used by our government as a temporary air force, until our new boeings arrive, which arrive very late to delivery.”
Some Democrats have requested an ethics investigation into the gift.

“I am writing to express alarm about the reports that President Donald Trump is ready to accept a luxury plane, a Boeing 747-8, of the Qatar government. The plane, so opulent, was described as a” palace in heaven, “will be made available to President Trump for the official use of the Air Force and then for private use once he leaves the office,” Torres wrote.
Trump questioned why taxpayers should pay the aircraft invoice when the United States can get one at no cost.
“This great savings will be spent, on the other hand, for the United States to be great again!” Trump wrote. “Only a fool would not accept this gift in the name of our country. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
According to the reports, Trump toured the plane in February when he was on the track of West Palm Beach airport in Florida, ABC News reported on the weekend.

According to reports, the gift has been linked to legal revisions such as the Office of the Blanca House Council and the Department of Justice review the legality of the president’s acceptance, such an expensive gift from a foreign nation.
The current Air Force One fleet includes two airplanes, and Trump granted Boeing a contract of $ 3.9 billion in 2018, duration of its first mandate, to manufacture two new airplanes. However, the construction of the airplanes is not expected to be completed until 2029.
