Countries around the world have aligned to negotiate tariffs and commercial barriers with Trump in the days since he announced the reciprocal tariffs last Wednesday, or the day of release, “as he calls it.

On Monday, Trump revealed that Japan, which faces a 24 percent reciprocal tariff, was sending a team to the United States to negotiate after a conversation that Shigeru Ihiba Prime Minister had. But while many countries are arriving at the negotiating table, commercial tensions between the United States and China are increasing. Beijing responded with his own 34 percent rate on American goods that was aware of the existing tariffs that China has about the imports of the United States.
