Lake Butler, Florida (AP) – Jay North, who starred in Towaded’s manufacturer on televisions “Dennis The Menace” for four seasons from 1959, has died. He was 73 years old.
On North Sunday at home in Lake Butler, Florida, after fighting colon cancer, said Laurie Jacobson, a lifelong friend, and Bonnie Vent, who was her reserve agent.
“He had a heart as big as a mountain, he loved his friends deeply. He called us frequently and ended each conversation with ‘I love you with all my heart,” Jacobson wrote in a tribute on Facebook.
North was 6 when he was chosen as the smiling ruffle in the adaptation of the CBS comedy of the popular Hank Ketcham comic strip that took place in an idyllic American suburb.

Often, with a scratched shirt and a monkey, Dennis’s mischieuwous mischief frequently frustrated his retired next next next, played by Joseph Kearns. Dennis patients were interpreted by Herbert Anderson and Gloria Henry.
The show worked on Sunday nights until it was canceled in 1963. After that it was an accessory for decades in union.
Later, North appeared on television in programs that include “The Man from Uncle”, “The Lucy Show”, “My Three Sons”, “Lassie” and “The Simpsons”, and in films such as “Maya” (1966), “The Teacher” (1974) and “2003).
North is survived by his third wife, Cindy, and three steps.
