The special prosecutor Hank Brennan may have overshadowed the impact of inappropriate text messages that the main homicide detective sent with respect to Karen read days before being accused of the murder of John or experts, they say.
The texts were a bomb that exploded the first trial when they read with Michael Proctor in the witness position, and ended with a jury dead last year. This time, prosecutors decided not to call him as a witness, and he was his childhood friend Jonathan Diamandis who, visible uncomfortable, walked the jury through conversation.
But beyond the rude comments about reading, experts say that the less explosive messages about Proctor’s first opinions could be condemnatory.
“Proctor is mentally committed [the defense] To call it, “the retired judge from the Superior Court of Massachusetts and Boston Law Professor College Jack Lu told Fox News Digital.” Now that text messages are inside, they will not call Proctor unless they are convinced that they have lost: the old pass of ‘Hail Mary’. ”

Lu said the defense team won some land with Diamandis in the stand, but with Brennan in front of the front text chain, the messages were probably not a significant change in favor of Read.
“Is the jury really shocked by the abusive text messages of a police officer who investigates a person who believes he is a murderer?” Lu said. “I doubt.”
Reading is accused of hitting her boyfriend, Boston police officer, John or 29, 2022.
Diamandis testified that he has bones in a group chat with Princed for more than a decade and was aware of texts that sat down to the research on O’Kefe’s death.

The Massachusetts State Police fired Proctor in March after an internal investigation discovered that he had shared confidential and confidential information about the case with exterior people or police.
The first Read test revealed inappropriate text messages that the principal researcher sent when the case was developing.
“The messages demonstrate one thing, and that Michael is human, not corrupt, not incompetent in his role as a homicide detective and is certainly not suitable for continuing to be a state soldier of Massachusetts,” said his sister, Courtney Proctor, Previyly.
In the interrogation, Brennan asked Diamandis to read the messages of the jury of Proctor from the day O’Kefe’s body was discovered.

“She regretted it,” Proctor wrote, referring to Read. “I looked at his body in the hospital.”
Proctor intervened with his own observations of what could have happened to or
“That’s what I initially thought after talking [a] Canton’s paramedic, “Proctor wrote.” Then I saw the boy. ”

When he was asked for more details, Proctor responded with a message he meant reading, telling his friends: “She hit him with her car.”
“Gotcha,” a friend wrote. “[O’Keefe] I was frozen on the entrance path, and she didn’t see him. ”
“That is another animal that we won to be able to try,” Proctor replied. “They arrived at the house together, they had a discussion, she drove and left.”
The defense lawyers urged to reexamine the sentences led by Karen Read Detective.
Text messages pose the possibility that Proctor reached a conclusion about or sent them around 11 in the afternoon of January 29, 2022, the day O’Keefe was found. An autopsy was not completed up to two days later.
“These texts were from John’s night or” their conclusion was premature. ”
The alleged hurry of Proctor to involve reading could make him ignore the evidence that points to other possibilities surrounding the cause of O’Kefe’s death, according to Edwards.
“Michael Proctor is not qualified to determine how John O’Keefe died,” Edwards said. “For that we have medical examiners. According to text messages, Michael Proctor had reached that conclusion on his own at a few hours after O’Kefe’s death.”

Criminal Defense lawyer Mark Beererew also pointed out Propctor’s professional disability to determine what, or who killed O’Keefe, and how the immediate assumption could have been a detriment for investigation.
“[Proctor] He is not qualified to say that, “Beerowow told Fox News Digital.” There is great evidence of the vision and bias of the Proctor Research Tunnel. ”
As the tone of the texts changed, Diamondis told the courtroom that he did not want to continue reading the messages aloud because they contained “uncomfortable words”, which caused them to brrennan them and asked Diamondis to confirm that he was when he was chained was read.

Proctor is on the list of defense witnesses, but the Read team called Diamondis in its place, in what Edwards believes it is a risky defense movement.
“Brennan has now drawn the wind from the candles of the defense because the reading of these texts did not have the impact that they did the first trial when Michael Proctor read them himself,” Edwards said.

The option to call the childhood friend of Proctor could be seen as a safe way for the defense team to drop the pump text chain without increasing the interrogation by the State.
On the other hand, the defense can now point out the fact that prosecutors refused to put their principal investigator in the witness position, said Beererew.
“They will probably seek an instruction of ‘disappeared witness’ of the court in which the judge will inform his jurors that they can extract an inference from Adverke against prosecution for not calling Proctor,” he said. “It is unprecedented virtue that the prosecution does not call the principal investigator in a case of murder, but, of course, it is also extraordinarily strange that the principal investigator has been completed by a behavior and bias that [the same] Case. ”
