One of my favorite publications of the good old blog days was the list of the months of ideas of family activities of activities on the winter wishes, so I am very excited to resurrect it! He began with some ideas to add to his family’s winter wishes: some of those who would be great with children, others could also work as night quoting activities. Discuss any other of your favorite activities or traditions of the winter wishes list below, we can keep it up. 🙂
- Snow sports! Whether you are an experienced skier or a snowboarder or that are bunny slopes for you, pencil in a day at skiing stations! No matter their skill level, anyone could enjoy a small skiing in any way.
- Find and participate in a submarine for holy or charity in some way. This is one of our favorite family traditions, especially being able to involve children in it. You never know how a holiday duration could be and there are so many beneficial organizations and great foundations Alreamy created to find a way to help. Choose one and see how your mood completely changes!
- Puts cunning! This is ideal for all ages: there are endless artisanal ideas to make this winter a bit more cozy. I loved this idea in Tiktok to paint your own Mat’s ginger bread – Genius! It would be as pretty as the night activity of a girl too. And there are so many beautiful artisanal ideas for Christmas decoration, from Christmas ornaments to garlands. With smaller children, you still have that personal and pretty memory feeling, but it would surprise you as children get old how artistic crafts sometimes become like something that pays a lot of money.
- Hot chocolate bar. This is great with children: they will love to be creative with the ingredients and probable, they will enjoy the opportunity to do everything possible haha. Combine it with a cozy winter movement and groups in some warm blankets for a fun family memory.
- Become a hockey fan. Okay, there are many sports that you can enjoy during the winter, but Salt Lake has just had a NHL team, so it seems not to be better than the present to pay attention to sports haha. I have the feeling that children would become addicted quickly.
- Have a baked family. In those days in which nobody wants to leave the house, be creative with an oven! It will be an excellent way of being creative in the kitchen and I hope that the result is quite tasty too 🙂
- Organize a party of ‘favorite things’ instead of its typical white elephant or secret exchange of Santa’s gifts. All bring x number of their favorite things (usually within a lower budget, since they will bring one for each guest they attend), have fun knowing yourself at a completely new level and go home the proven and true favorites.
- Gratitude magazines. This is another tradition that we have tried to keep up as a family. Especially around Thanksgiving, it is a great reminder to document the many things we have to be grateful. And it is crazy, it seems that you never run out of things to add to the list once you put yourself in that mentality.
- Reserve a photographer. Whether you have the habit of sending Christmas cards or vacations every year or not, let this be your reminder to book some photos! In general, lighting is a bit more indulgent in the winter, since it tends to be more cloudy, so accumulates in some beautiful and coordinated layers and becomes sincere for some updated photos! Some of my favorites are our photo sessions in the snow. If that is not in the budget, configure your own festive backdrop for some equally memorable family photos. 🙂
- Take advantage of seasonal events. At this time of year, there are many of all ages: Disney on Ice, community or musical works, talented tour. Even if it is outside your normal comfort zone, it is something that you may never do again and that is just a great experience that you would never have otherwise.
- Have a gingerbread decoration competition. I swear that half of the sweets eat before the house (and then the other half of the sweets after the house is made haha), but it is such a fun tradition, with friends or family alike.
- Hits a winter market. Many creators and businessmen work throughout the year in preparation of winter markets and sell their Christmas gift products. And you can find so many personal and impressive pieces that you would never find in the store. Make a point to see a winter market near you and support local artists, and also feel that you are starring a Christmas movie by Hallmark, haha.
