A man from Salinas was sentenced to more than six years in prison last month for child abuse, domestic violence, possession of child pornography and other crimes.
Jeremy Michael Betancourt, 33, was already on probation for domestic violence on November 11, 2023, when she pushed her ex -girlfriend against a wall while she held her 2 -year -old son, causing the child in the head again the wall and caused visible swelling, the Monterey Saidy County Office.
The woman, identified only as Jane by the authorities, left the child to avoid more injuries, just before Betancourt tried to quench her to avoid screaming.
When the woman tried to receive help, Betancourt strongly withdrew her cell phone from her power and fled, according to prosecutors.
Almost at the same time, Salinas Police detectives listened to the National Center for missing and exploited children, which backed down an online service provider advocate that Betancourt accessed obscene material that involved minors involved in lascivious acts. Charges were presented and an arrest warrant for the Betancourt judgment was issued.
Before the police could judge him, Jane Doe told the agents of the Montey County Sheriff’s office over other times that Betancourt hit her and strangled her.
The officers said they had visible injuries of at least three separate incidents, which happened within a few days of their report.
