The devastated brother of the victim of the Hudson River helicopter clash, Mercè Camprubí Montal, made a gloomy visit to the fatal accident scene on Saturday, since he promised to “never forget” his tragic members of the family.
“We never forget you,” said Joan Camprubí Montal in his native Spanish after reciting the five names. “We will keep your smile alive every day of our lives, and I think that is the best legacy we can give you.”
Camprubí Montal, who flew to the big block from Spain, spoke with the media on Saturday after meeting with the first meeting with Mayor Eric Adams and placing flowers on the side of the city of Jersey, not far from where the family of five and his pilot died.
“This is a really diffuse situation, but we are exaggerated by the massive condolences that we have resorted,” added Montal. “I want to say that they left together, left without suffering, and left with a smile on their faces, and that is important for us.”
Adams called on Thursday’s fatal helicopter an “indescribable” tragedy.
In the accident on Thursday they killed Mercè Camprubí Montal, her husband, Agustin Escobar, and her three children: Augustin, 10, Mercedes, 8, and Victor, 4.
The Chopper and Veteran pilot of the Marina Sean Johnson, 36, was also killed.
