It is still early, but UFC 314 could end up being the best card from top to bottom of the year.
There are 13 fights this weekend, starting at 6 pm et with the preliminaries, which will be in the ESPN program in star schedule.
Meanwhile, the main card jumps to the payment performance at 10 pm and is headed by former champion Alexander Volkanovski, who seeks to claim his championship belt, in front of Diego Lopes.

UFC 314 Predictions
Alexander Volkanovski vs. Diego Lopes
The featherweight belt is vacant after Ilyia Topuria knocked out Volkanovski champion.
Lopes has a ton of power. Heyly knocked Brian Ortega and is on a five fight streak.
Three of those five victories are finishing, since he is a very complete fighter both in struggle and in presentations.
However, his cardio is legitimately suspicious, and Volkanovski does an excellent job by cutting his opponent’s lead leg.
That should explain a dangerous combo for Lopes if you cannot eliminate or send Volkanovski from the beginning.
Volkanovski has been knocked out in each of the last two fights.
Even so, the strength of Lopes schedule is much less than any title contender in the pen weight we have seen in years.
I suspect that Volkanovski wins by decision in this, since Lopes falls into the section.

Michael Chandler vs. Paddy Pimblett
“Iron” Michael Chander has had the habit of losing inside the octagon, with only two victories in six fights.
