The police departments of the Campus, at least three public universities in Florida, are moving to reach an agreement with the federal government in the hope of delegating their officers to carry out the application of the immigration law.
In the United States in recent weeks, federal officials have revoked international students for infractions ranging from accusations of domestic terrorism to speed tickets as part of the atrocious president of immigration.
Schools in Florida are now trying to use a new tactic to expand the scope and skills of immigration officials on university campuses.
The expansion is in line with the actions of the Governor of Florida Ron Desantis that support the Mass Deportation Agenda of the Trump Administration, which includes demanding local and state agencies to use their “better efforts” to support the application of the Federal Immigration Law.
Until now, Florida Atlantic University in Boca Mouse, the University of Florida in Gainesville and the University of Southern Florida in Tampa are trying to delegate the police of their campus specifically for the application of immigration, representatives of schools told The Tell Tell.
It is expected that “all state schools” find ways to strengthen the immigration application authority, according to Desantis directives, said Joshua Glanzer, Fau spokesman.
“We are simply following the guidance of the governor of the Governor of February 19 to the state agencies of application of the law, or what FAUPD and other police departments of the State University are included,” Glanzer said in a statement.
ICE recently implemented its program 287 (g) that gives “Immigration and Customs Control of the United States (ICE) to delegate state and local law agents to perform functions of Funigtor officers under the direction and supervision of the agency”, “,”, “”, “”, “”, ”
Agencies can hold agreements with the federal government through program 287 (G). As of April 3, only 11 states do not have an agreement or in place or under considerations.
No university has entered the 287 (g) program still.
There are three application models available through the program. The University of Florida is studying the task force model, which would grant the participating officers the power to interrogate “any foreigner or person who creates as a foreigner” about his right to remain in the country. It would also grant them the ability to issue judgments without guarantees in selected cases.
The other two models, the prison application model and the Service Service officers program, do so that participating agencies can accelerate legal procedures for suspended illegal immigrants.
The prison application model allows officers to “identify and process removable foreigners”, specifically with criminal, slope or proven charges, in their custody, according to the website.
The guarantee service officers program allows participating officials to “execute administrative orders” on immigrants in Holding, cordination to the website.
