China had been causing a reduction in Hollywood films since President Trump promulgated his tariffs, but the country did not make it official until later last week, when the Chinese film administration (CFA) announced that US films will be deliveries. By The Hollywood Reporter (THR):
The Chinese film administration (CFA), the body that manages the releases and fees of films in the country, launched a statement on Thursday in response to a journalist’s question about whether Trump’s administrations increase tariffs in China would affect the imports of Americans. A CFA spokesman said that the United States government had made the wrong movement to “abuse China’s rates” and that the situation “will inevitably reduce even more to the domestic audience towards US films.”
The statement added: “We will follow the rules of the market, we will respect the choice of the hearing and moderately reduce the number of imported American films. China is the second largest film market in the world. We have always adhered to a high level of openness to the outside world and introduce more excellent movies in the world to meet market demand.”
The announcement occurs after China promised to “fight until the end” in response to President Donald Trump, imposing high rates in the country for increasing the commercial war, while pauses 90 days to tariffs to other countries.
