Aaron Judge is adding another captainy to his curriculum.
The reigning MVP of the American League will serve as captain of the US team. In the World Baseball Classic next year, he announced Monday.
The judge did not participate in the last WBC in 2023, since it was held during the first spring training after signing its nine -year contract and $ 360 million to keep the Yankees, when the first team captain was also appointed since Derek Jeter.
“He was the best, sitting at home watching the battle of the US team.” Judge said Monday on the MLB network to lose it last time. “I wanted to be there, he was a child or in the midst of free agency.”

Since then he won another MVP and this time he did not hesitate, calling him “a special honor.”
“Having the opportunity to represent this country … and having the US team. In my chest, it is a great opportunity,” Judge said. “I never had this opportunity before, it only grew when I was a child.”
