San Francisco – Entertainment in extra time at the Chase Center, seed No. 6 was there for the bar on Sunday afternoon.
But when such a chance was presented, two of the Warriors enemies sent Golden State to the game tournament with a 124-119 defeat in extra time.
Kawhi Leonard, six years after bringing the Raptors to the 2019 title on the Warriors in the NBA finals, showed an old collection of medium -range skipstakes, strong units and unattainable isolation movements to score 33 points.
Then, James Harden, who fought against Golden State for years as the superstar of the Rockets, attracts 12 points of extra time to help close the Warriors.
With the Timberwolves, Grizzlies and Nuggets winning their games, the Warriors (48-34) are the seventh seed and destined for a game game on Tuesday night against the Memphis Grizzlies.
The Warriors wasted a two -digit advantage in the second quarter, and also multiple leadership in the second half.
Steph Curry scored 36 but had eight ball losses, and Jimmy Butler put 30, while Brandin Podziemski scored 19. Harden scored 39 to lead the clippers.
Curry did everything possible to take the Warriors to a position in the playoffs, scoring 18 in the fourth quarter and burssting three brushes that stretch.
But with the opportunity to break the point of dead with 32 seconds, the franchise shipowner turned it around. Leonard lost a medium range shot in the bell, sending the game on extra time.
Even after getting back early in the extra period, the Warriors would simply disappear. Curry, Drayond Green and Jimmy Butler each scored to do it 121-119 with 50 seconds.
After Green forced Leonard to turn the ball, he opened in a tray that would have tied the game with 26 seconds removering.
Green lost her tray, but Leonard lost 1 of 2 free throws to give the Warriors the ball, going down three points with six seconds removing.
Buddy said that a potential of type 3 was lost in the left wing, and Harden’s things closed from the line from there.
It was a dramatic ending for a game that left the battered and bruised Warriors.
Butler was injured at the end of the game, favoring his left leg after challenging a shot in the extra period of time. He remained in the game until the final bell, but was clearly limited.
Green suffered a scare of the injury in the middle of the first quarter when he seemed to hurt his neck after diving through a loose ball. The veteran striker returned to the locker room with remaining 6:22 in the first quarter, but returned a few minutes later and reviewed the game again.
Golden State finished the first quarter in a 13-1 race to take an advantage of 33-25 in the second period. Butler scored 10 points in the first 12 minutes, including six in the last 75 seconds of the first quarter.
The Warriors scored the first four points of the second quarter, to build an advantage of 39-25.
The defense deserved much of the credit: Moses Moody protected Leonard, Standard Powell and hardened at different points, and against all three.
The clippers responded shortly after with a 16-4 and tok race an advantage of 49-48 in a hardened baseline float.
Curry gave the Warriors a 58-57 advantage in a triple that fades from the left wing with six seconds in the middle, but Powell sent the clippers to the costumes with an advantage of 60-58 when making a shock absorber disputed 35 feet.
The two triple triple of Green’s third quarter and more butler cubes gave Golden State an advantage of 72-71, but the clippers continued to succeed in isolation.
Harden was able to get downhill, and Leonard buried individual jumpers to help clippers take an 83-82 advantage in the last quarter. The two veteran stars of the repeated that method to save the game in extra time to sweep the season of the season and send Golden State to the game tournament.
