A convicted murderer and a trained MMA fighter is loose after he was released by error from Georgia’s prison when workers did not pay attention to work, authorities said.
Kathan Guzman had only five months in a life imprisonment in the Clayton County prison located about 15 miles from the Atlanta Center-after he was convicted of murder of murder for serious crime for strangling his former 19-year-old friend.
On March 27, Guzman walked free from the prison on what the Clayton County Sheriff, Levon Allen, called a training failure and the jailers did not pay much attention to the Guzmán archive.
Everyone said the workers looked at a judicial document that showed a motion not to process, but they did not realize that it was only for one of the positions he faced.
Guzman, 23, was accused of necrophilia in relation to the murder of Grayson, but the position never stayed and appeared in his archive as the motion of not processing.
Clayton County prison employees did not look for more in their archives where he was accused of murder for serious crime and aggravated assault and allowed him to get out of prison.
“It simply shows negligence on the part of the Sheriff’s department,” he told WSB TV 2 of Clayton County Commission, to WSB TV 2.
The jailers only realized that Guzmán had released his leg when the State called to transfer it to another prison, a source told The Outlet.
Clayton County District Prosecutor, Tasha Mosley, said her office was notified that a murderer was released by error two weeks ago around lunch time on Tuesday, 11 Alive reported.
“I am not happy with this mistake made by an employee of the Sheriff’s office,” Mosley said. “My staff worked hard to get justice for the victim’s family and to make our streets safe and we are disappointed.”
The Clayton County Sheriff’s office has not yet issued a statement to the public about which Guzman is loose from Thursday morning.
“The Sheriff’s office said they have not informed the public because they do not want Guzman to know that they are looking for it,” wrote 11 Aldy Cody Alcorn in the comments of a publication or his article on Facebook.
The publication has communicated with the Clayton County Sheriff’s office and the US sheriffs to comment.
Guzmán’s ex -girlfriend’s mother, Christina Grayson, told Alive 11 that her daughter’s murderer was error on Tuesday and Sid now fears for her own life.
“How does this happen?” She said. “I am petrified for my life. I mean, obviously, a life meant nothing to him.”
Christina said that the liberation of Guzmán and his all, which are still unknown, not only should they themselves but also the public.
“Given seeing what Delilah did, I would say that the public is in imminent danger,” said the mother.
“It would have Goths away while life was if it were not for the neighbors under them who came out and glimpsed him.”
Christina also told Fox 5 Atlanta that Guzmán is a trained mixed martial arts fighter.
“We are talking about someone who is trained in MMA,” he said.
“He is a murderer trained with his hands, and looks good and friendly. No one is safe. The public is not safe.”
She also condemned the Sheriff’s office for not realizing that she was released by Soner error.
“It is afraid to know that someone could be released by an error,” said Christina.
“And then we wait two weeks. We don’t alert anyone.”
