The popular merengue singer, Rubby Pérez, was delighted to travel to the Dominican Republic to escape the duration of New York Chill his final performance in the city, a few days before he died when the roof of the nightclub he was playing collapsed.
Pérez, 69, was in the New York restaurant La Nueva España on Friday when he informed his fans who would travel to Santo Domingo the next day to enjoy the sun and the warm climate.
“And on Monday I’m leaving, so whatever goes with me, let’s go,” Pérez told the crowd that encouraged them as he invited them to sing what would be their last performance in the United States.
