Now that Caitlin Clark has passed to the WNBA, the last four television classifications of the NCAA have collapsed compared to what last year.
The Final Four of the Final Women’s NCAA saw a strong decrease in qualifications this week compared to 2024.
According to the numbers, the transmissions of UConn vs. UCLA and South Carolina vs. Texas brought only 3.9 million viewers in ESPN. That is a 64 percent decrease in the record established last year of 10.8 million hard in the Clark NCAA tournament, Fox News reported.
Or keep in mind that this year’s tournament remains the second most observed in the history of female basketball in the NCAA, showing how popular female basketball has grown in recent seasons.
Even so, the steep drop in qualifications for a tournament without clark is remarkable and shows what Clark contributes to his sport.
The NBA has already witnessed the Clark effect.
According to Fox’s news:
In the first final of Clark’s regular season against the Washington Mystics on September 19, the 20,711 fans who appeared in Capital One Arena established a new record for the regular season contest attributed to the WNBA.
Clark attracted a WNBA record 1.84 million viewers for its first playoff match against Connecticut Sun on September 22, while competing with a NFL Sunday. She followed him with another record audience or 2.54 million viewers for game 2.
Clark has brought a wave of new fans and a new popularity to female basketball.
